The Reason Behind Becoming Thurayyah

What is it that fuels you? For me, it’s my faith. I love writing about my passions, what interest me, what interests others and sharing all of my thoughts with my readers.

Becoming Thurayyah is truly my own little passion project, gaining more and more traction each day. It is a platform that is created as an insightful resource geared towards female converts to Islam.

My name is Christen Ruth Young. I was born on August 14th, 1996 to Christopher Donald Young and Cecille Young. I was baptised. My parents are Christians. I grew up with their religious teachings. However, I did not remain on the same path.

There isn’t only one incident that I can say definitely sanctioned my conversion, but rather a series of influences.

 Over the years I began to think that telling the full story would help others around me to understand my reasoning better and help those who might be struggling with their own rationalisation.
